The Fascinating History Of Hypnosis
By admin | November 23, 2009
When people think about hypnosis, an image comes to mind of a man sitting and swinging a pendulum in front of someone and saying to them, You are getting very sleepy. What exactly are rapid inductions?
By admin | November 17, 2009
Rapid inductions are used to bring a client in trance very quickly and effectively.
Rapid inductions have formed true myth, because it seems almost incredible to put a man in two to three seconds in deep trance. Rapid inductions are normally not used for hypnosis therapies . Here are gentler methods preferred to give the client enough time to fall in hypnosis piece by piece.
There are different types of rapid inductions. All have in common that they use mechanisms that are based on natural reflexes of man. Those natural reflexes protect against overloading the consciousness and cause the deep trance.
Almost everyone knows situations in which your brain has to handle too many impressions. As result your subconscious will need a break and will fall into a trance. In this situation you can notice that your consciousness isn’t really very active.
Exactly at this point rapid inductions come into play. The hypnotists will try toconfuse the consciousness of the other person for a moment. No bad things, maybe only small movements or processes that you are not accustomed to this way. Just enough to confuse his client. Through this little irritation, the subconscious is open to suggestions. Now he can simply shout “sleep!” and the person will automatically fall into a deep, deep trance .
Rapid inductions don’t work every time with every person. There are about five basic types of rapid inductions, which can be split in countless variations. Some people respond to all types, some only to one or two and some people do not react to rapid inductions at all. Some people just go into a deep trance, others feel a slight dizziness or a feeling of relaxation.
You can say that about that 90% of all people respond to any of those rapid techniques. Of those 90% approximately 50% respond very well, 20% respond to only 2-3 techniques and a further 20% only respond to one technique. Only 10% (one of 10 people) do not react to the rapid inductions at all.
Now I will tell you what you will have to consider if you want to start hypnotizing other people with those techniques. First off all you have to be very confident. If you are not confident your subject won’t trust you anymore and won’t fall into a deep trance.
Make sure that your client sits in a chair. Your client will instantly kiss the ground.
