Stories about hypnosis
By admin | Oktober 27, 2009
There are many stories and myth about hypnosis. Most untrue stories come from media that give us a wrong understanding of how hypnosis works and what hypnosis is. For example hypnosis is presented as supernatural state of mind very often. Those stories is absolutely wrong. Hypnosis definitely is a natural state of mind everybody experiences many times per day . This natural hypnotic state can be achieved with special hypnosis inductions that allow everyone you hypnotize to fall into a deep hypnotic trance very fast.
Another myth says that people under hypnosis are will-less and have to obey the hypnotist. Don’t belive those stories. People under hypnosis don’t follow the hypnotists instructions if they aren’t positive about the suggestions given by the hypnotist, but it is definitely possible to manipulate other people with suggested hallucinations. For example the hypnotist could suggest that the proband can see a dangerous lion instead a real person in front of him when he opens his eyes. In order to survive this proband has to kill this “lion” with a gun. This is what Alexander Cain did in one of his shows.
The following German video proves that it is possible to commit crimes under hypnosis (fast-forward to 2:20 if you don’t understand what Cain is saying) :
If Cain had suggested him to kill the person in front of him he wouldn’t have shot at all. The reason is quiet simple: The proband wouldn’t have been positive about the suggestions.
