Stop smoking with hypnosis
By admin | September 18, 2009
I have only ever have had one hypnosis session in my life, it was to give up smoking and it was successful. It was done by a local man in his 50s whose office was his front room.I remember sitting down in his very comfortable leather swivel chair, him asking me to close my eyes and relax. I was unable to do this because I was too busy fighting the urge not swivel ! He continued to talk in a slow deep voice, about something to do with counting down and stairs, I can’t quite recall what he said, I was thinking about what was going to happen on the soap opera “EastEnders” that night.Strangely I can’t remember anything else of the experience except giving the guy £20 and not wanting to smoke.
The next day I didn’t have any cravings, not even a little pang, the hypnosis had totally worked. The only problem was, that I really didn’t want to give up in the first place. I loved smoking; I was just doing it for my friends and family. I felt resentful that Id stopped something I loved for other people. I decided, even though I was no longer addicted I was going to start again! The session cost £20, which was the about the cost of 2 weeks worth of cigarettes. I would have to give up for that length of time to get my money back. So, a fortnight of absolutely no cravings later I sparked up a cigarette. I was MR “self assured” smoking man again.
What an idiot I was! I could have easily stopped after my hypnosis session, but instead continued for another 10years! Only when my friend lent me a hypnosis CD did I finally quit.

I’m glad you posted this. I really need to stop smoking and it would probably help better than the patch.
