Is hypnosis relaxation save ?

By admin | November 28, 2009

Hypnosis is like the panacea of illness cures-this is what I read in one of the websites I googled. I wanted to try out hypnosis but I just don’t know if it’s safe or not. I don’t know if it might affect my mental health considering I am tampering with my sub-consciousness. I research some articles online if Hypnosis was safe. There are some who claims it to be while there are some who says that it had adverse effects on them I don’t know which side to believe.

In one hand, they say the hypnosis just uses the power of suggestion to “Tweak” a portion of your sub-consciousness into functioning in another way which you suggest it. I have heard Hypnosis being approved in different medical associations around the world so I should trust it right? I also discovered that everyone gets into a hypnotic trance several times a day like when you are riding your car or reading a book. I have noticed something like that happen to me. Is that like in Adam Sandler’s movie, “Click”, where your mind is somewhere else where your body is going on “automatic mode” or something? I wonder if it’s the same I haven’t really noticed in any of my hypnosis relaxation therapies.

But I guess those things are normal right for anybody? So is hypnosis as normal as that. Well, I don’t know if my experience can count for something but when I tried it out, I didn’t even realize an hour had went by. Time went by so fast when you are in a hypnosis induced sleep you just don’t want to think of anything in particular. I’m just getting ready for another hypnosis session now. I’ll be back to give you more updates.

  1. For me, the issue is simple: read the documentation. There are numerous studies (I’m talking hundreds and hundreds of them) published in reputable journals (the Mayo proceedings, National Institute of Health, etc) that document successful use of hypnosis for IBS, pain management, and much, much more. If you’re willing to take the time to search for these articles, they are there. Hypnosis has something to offer each of us.
