A hypnotic trance happens to everyone, everyday and sometimes every hour. Have you ever experienced cleaning your house or sending a text message where you absolutely are so engrossed that you do not notice anybody else talking to you or any other event in your surrounding? That is being in a hypnotic trance as experts call it. I recently experience that kind of situation at school this morning. I had examinations right then our professor was already telling us to pass our examination notebooks. At that time I don

“The Sleeping Prophet” Edgar Cayce would command himself to engage in out-of-body experiences and near-death experiences through self-hypnosis. Under a trance state, he would give readings and diagnoses to people he has never met. His followers documented almost 14,000 journeys unto the spirit realm, made through his subconscious mind – or what Cayce referred to as the soul.
Sensational historian David Lewis revealed that Adolf Hitler was once hypnotized and this may have been the root of the kind of life he has led. Lewis claimed that in 1918, Hitler believed he has gone completely blind – despite diagnoses of doctors that nothing is wrong with his eyes. Through hypnosis, a doctor suggested to Hitler that indeed, he has lost his eyesight, but through will power he can make himself see again. “That’s because God made him an exceptional person,” the good doctor added. “Since then,” Lewis said, “the hypnosis marked Hitler so much that he took life believing he was exceptional, and the rest, as they say, is history”.

Robert F. Kennedy’s assassin was under the influence of a mastermind through hypnotism during the assassination, and was said to have shown robotic, trance-like movements and repeated “RFK must die” over and over again during police interrogation.

Have you read about clairvoyants reaching into other dimensions to get rare or secret information? How about mediums meddling with the underworld and calling the dead? Hypnosis stories, are they for real?

Hypnosis may be one of the most debated upon and controversial topics known to us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get our facts right. Before we delve further in our study of mind control and its twists and turns, let’s try to get our facts straight first. Here are some of the most popular, yet unproven, takes on hypnosis.

The Powerful Mystical Mysterious Master Hypnotist

No, he doesn’t have supernatural powers. He’s not casting an ancient spell. He’s not an apostle of Satan. Neither is he a saint.

Your friendly neighborhood hypnotist – be he a licensed doctor or a new-age practitioner – does not possess that special kind of “animal magnetism” either. That theory has long been dismissed, as early as in the 17th century. Today, it is proven that to be able to initiate a hypnotism session, the hypnotist may merely provide a very specific visual element to focus on, some soothing music perhaps, and a very convincing, authoritative spiel repeated in a monotone. You need only to be relaxed, aware, and willing to be hypnotized. Of course, the effects of hypnosis can rely on the hypnotist’s ability and experience; as well as the motivation and mental conditioning of the subject.

The Dreamer

People claiming they are under hypnosis, are they dreaming?

The opposite is true – when you are under hypnosis, rather than sleeping, you are actually fully alert. In fact, more alert than normal. Being under hypnotism requires your mind to focus intensely, whether it’s the swinging motion of the pendulum clock, the monotone pattern of the hypnotist’s voice, and the sound of your own breathing as you relax. For your subconscious to take over, you need to concentrate intently. Under a state of trance, you will still be fully aware of the things you will be saying and doing, as suggested upon by the hypnotist – including activities not related to sleeping, such as walking, running around, reading, laughing, and even acting like a chicken.

The Live Chicken Eating Girl

No way! Not eating live chicken, unless of course, you really prefer such gastronomic experiment.

It was widely believed that hypnotists can turn people into zombie-like, robotic creatures ready to obey their master’s bid and call. Popular culture portrayed hypnotized people to behave differently, or do extraordinary, life-threatening, illegal or immoral acts.

Sorry to disappoint you and your cinematic notions, but hypnotism cannot force you to do things against your will (unless the hypnotist is pointing a gun at you, but that’s a stickup). You, an ordinary, law-abiding citizen, will not turn wild and go trashing people’s windshields when under hypnosis. You will still maintain your principles; even if instructed, you won’t trample upon your religion’s holiest shrine. Your sense of right and wrong will remain intact. Nobody can make you strip in front of a crowd – unless you want to. J The hypnotist can only make suggestions that can alter your consciousness, making you more open and easily “manipulated” – to a certain extent. People who have experienced stage hypnotism said that they can refuse to follow the hypnotist’s suggestions, just that “it’s easier to follow him”. This is so because the active, aggressive, decision-making part of the consciousness becomes timid when under a trance. So it is “easier” to just automatically respond to suggestions. To some extent, the hypnotist can control the actions and the way his subjects behave. Conversely, the effect of hypnosis also depends upon your motivation, willingness, and faith to make it work for you.

The Deranged Hit Man

It was formerly believed that the perfect assassin is one under the influence of hypnotism – someone who will be intensely focused on the task, every obstacle trampled upon; someone who will be so sure to get the job done efficiently and cleanly; a lean, mean killing machine. Snap out of it! You may have been watching too many movies and television shows.

As stated, no amount of hypnotism can force anybody to act against his instincts or his moral principles. Yes, you may not help but chuckle like a chicken when, for example, you were chosen as a participant in a hypnotism show. But you may opt not to pull that trigger given that one evil hypnotist tells you to do so. When someone mentions a suggestion as serious as this, something in your mind clicks off automatically and lets you decide rationally. Like when you’re tipsy, you may sing “My Way” without inhibitions and with all the vocal calisthenics you could muster; but you are still aware and you can cut off the song (and probably release your audience from further discomfort) any moment you want to.

One theory on the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy was that the accused did the act because he was hypnotized. It was said that the assassin showed behavior typical of a hypnotized individual. Witnesses said he “moved like a robot” during the time he shot RFK. Tests showed that he is a highly suggestible, easily hypnotic subject. Still nothing of these was acknowledged, or even presented to the court.

Hypnosis is the process of implanting an idea or a belief into what Freud termed the “Id”. The process bypasses the ‘gatekeepers’ of the mind, whose role is to question and analyze all information entering the mind. In normal day to day life the Id is presented with facts that have been approved by the gatekeepers, whom Freud called the “Ego” and the” Super Ego”. Essentially the Id can be portrayed as a trusting naive child who accepts anything its told, whilst the Ego and Super Ego are its loving parents who do all that they can to ensure the information the Id receives is appropriate, reasonable, rational and won’t lead it to any harm – physical or mental.

The act of hypnosis then can be presented as a symphony of three parts:

Hypnosis Induction – the act of temporarily disabling the gatekeepers. A state where the Ego and Super Ego are unable to function properly.
Suggestion – to convey to the Id a thought, idea, or action which is originated by the hypnotist. These suggestions can be good, bad or evil. The Id is unable to question, challenge or distinguish good from bad and will accept any suggestion as total truth.
Awakening – the gatekeepers are brought back into play.
These three steps are the essence of hypnosis, and the key stage is induction, or the act of disarming the defense mechanisms, switching off the alarms, poisoning the guards…use whatever metaphor you like; but unless this is done effectively, even to a person who wants to be hypnotized, the subject will never be open to receive suggestions.
As you can appreciate different people have different gatekeepers which range from the strong and super suspicious right across the spectrum to the weak and gullible. To recognize the personality and awareness level of the gatekeepers is key to an effective induction, and subsequent hypnotic event. The ability to quickly and effectively categorise the gatekeepers, and also gauge what mood they’re in, is of paramount importance to most hypnotists, especially in the fields commonly referred to as conversational and covert (Ericksonian) hypnosis.

However, of particular interest for our modern times is a different technique which does not depend on analyzing the gatekeepers’ personality, and is used by what I term “mass-control” hypnotists. To the select few mass control practitioners the gatekeepers of the majority of people they communicate with can be hoodwinked by feeding the gatekeepers with one type of information whilst communicating with the Id in a language the gatekeepers deem of no importance, and let pass through unhindered. This process has lot in common with neuro-linguistic programming, a modern name given to this process

It has been argued that many influential leaders such as Churchill, Hitler, JFK and more recently Obama utilize this mode of mass-control hypnosis, to great personal effectiveness.

Hypnosis, suggestion, NLP are all part of the same fascinating subject of mind control, and to learn more about them, especially the critical hypnosis induction stage, is a fascinating journey.

Mind machines are tools that help you enter altered states of consciousness (also called neurotechnology, or psychotechnology). Primarily, the term “mind machine” refers to light & sound machines, but also includes a broader range of tools like biofeedback devices, sleep & lucid dreaming tools, and binaural beat technology like Hemi-Sync. These cutting edge devices are rapidly becoming tools of choice to explore beginning or advanced meditation, self hypnosis, sleep and dream enhancement, learning, consciousness expansion, or stress management and more.
INTRO

Humans have an innate response to light and sound. Past cultures used chants and torches to enter trances…we go to rock concerts and get revved by strobing lights and thumping bass…and we are lulled by the gentle flicker and crackling coming from the fireplace.

And, our brains need stimulation like light and sound to make new neuronal connections. Our visual cortex is highly integrated with the rest of our brain, and translates flickering light into energy for learning, relaxation, creativity, focus, or whatever the stimulation and intent direct.

Light and sound stimulation (also called audio visual stimulation, or AVS) is a controlled form of this energy – a primitive ceremony, or concert, or a cozy holiday fire in a box! Much time and research has gone into the design of light and sound technology, giving us affordable, hi-grade, effective tools for functioning.

Light and sound machines produce specific, rhythmic stimulation and energy based on this research. We know the human brain has a certain rhythm when relaxed, another rhythm when focused, and so on. During a session, your overall brain rhythms, or frequencies, begin to follow the type of stimulation you choose. In this way, you are able to go to go past all your mental chatter from a busy day and enjoy profound relaxation, focus, sleep, meditation, and dazzling entertainment!

HOW DOES LIGHT & SOUND STIMULATION WORK?

Our brain is an electrical organ. It functions according to electrical potentials and frequencies just like our heart. And just as different heart rates relate to different states of your body, different brain rhythms relate to different states of mind. These rhythms, or brainwaves, are read by an electroencephalograph (EEG) machine and are generally grouped into four main classifications: Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta. Furthermore, each brainwave category is associated with certain mental states, like focus, relaxation, meditation and sleep, respectively.

Light and sound stimulation is a way to externally influence your ability to enter a desired mental state. And it does so in a stunning, cosmic way. The stimulation provided by a light and sound machine is predetermined by the type of session you choose. If you want to relax for example, the lights will gently pulsate at a frequency in the alpha range – as that is the frequency of a relaxed human brain. When stimulated as such, your brain begins to actually enter that mental state. The session types can be quite elaborate, including those for specific meditations, energizing, visualization, right or left hemisphere stimulation, breath pacing, and peak performance! That’s just to name a few.

There are 4 parts to the light and sound experience: 1) The control unit, 2) The headphones, 3) The light-emitting glasses, and 4) Your intent.

The control units are about the size of a Walkman and have only a few, simple buttons. They vary in capability. 3PoundUniverse.com carries a full selection of machines ranging from basic one-person “select and play”, to complex two-person, fully programmable. All control units allow the user to adjust the light and sound levels. Some of the machines can connect to a computer, allowing you to download more sessions and allowing you to create your own with included software. The headphones transmit the advanced sound technology that the control unit produces. During a session, the rhythm, pitch, musical effect, and timing with the light is elaborately orchestrated. Much of the sound in these devices is based on the concept of binaural beats. Binaural beats result when the headphones emit two tones of nearly identical frequencies at the same time – one in each ear. Our cortex perceives the difference between the tones as a third frequency (a binaural beat), which feels like it is being generated in the core of the brain.

Aside from this being an amazing sensation, the binaural beat is actually guiding your brain toward the target state you chose in your session because it is perceived as an alpha frequency, or a beta, and so on. If the difference between the tones in each earphone is an alpha frequency of 10 Hz, and the light frames are pulsing at 10 Hz, then our brain will begin to follow, and enter an alpha state of relaxation. As you experience light and sound stimulation more often, your brain begins to enter a desired state more easily, and functions more efficiently.

The light-emitting glasses resemble sunglasses, with 3-4 LEDs mounted inside the “lens”. Glasses are available with different colors of LEDs, and are divided into Standard and Premium, according to LED brightness and how hard it is to manufacture a certain color. Scroll down for information about the different colors of glasses.

WHAT CAN LIGHT & SOUND STIMULATION DO FOR ME?

Light and sound stimulation can help people achieve many things! It is a powerful relaxation and stress management tool. Meditation becomes immensely improved – it takes people a fraction of the time to reach and maintain deep meditative states than before. The light and sound frequencies gently urge the user to remain in the “zone” of mental alertness and physical relaxation. Users of light and sound often report feelings of balance, connectedness and even sensations of floating. Visions with deeply personal meaning sometimes surface. Alone, or combined with hypnosis CDs or favorite music, profoundly deep states of consciousness can be attained. Adept meditators reach states much deeper with light and sound – and for longer periods of time – than ever before.

Many users report vivid dreams when using a light and sound machines. Building upon that, some specifically practice letting their bodies drift off into deep relaxation while keeping their minds focused and aware. Spending time in this state can increase one’s ability to lucid dream – especially if they program, or repeat to themselves that they will remember their dreams when asleep and try to re-enter this mind awake/body asleep state at night. Light and sound machines also have sessions included to help guide it’s user into sleep. The frequencies of the light and sound progressively slow until they are operating in the delta range, the range of deep sleep. In this way, many use their machines as a sleeping aid and a tool to help them overcome nights of insomnia.

Light and sound stimulation is documented to promote learning and concentration as well. By entering a relaxed state of focus, learning and memory become much more efficient. Many individuals with attention deficits can benefit by actually doing sessions in the beta, or low-beta range (or using a pre-programmed session for learning or focus). Individuals with test anxiety enjoy huge improvements by doing such a session before testing, as they find their minds primed to perform, instead of caught in a fog of panic.

Use it or lose it! You’ve heard this term many times in relation to mental acuity. Light and sound stimulation is a fantastic way to exercise your brain. Visual and auditory stimulation act across a huge neural network. Keeping these neurons firing on a regular basis gently act as ‘neuronal aerobics’!

Finally, if you’re into psychedelia, than light and sound machines are for you. An otherwordly array of colors dance around your field of vision. Our machines also have built-in entertainment sessions that give the user a sense of spinning, spiraling, flying, etc. Individual perceptions are different from person to person, but always a trip!

USING YOUR OWN MACHINE

Once you have a unit of your own, the use of it is really quite simple. The user manual covers all the details, and provides a list of the pre-loaded sessions grouped by type (i.e. Relaxation, Energize, Meditations, etc.). Select a specific session, get comfortable, don the headphones and glasses, hit “Play”, CLOSE YOUR EYES (the LEDs flash through your closed eyelids), and enjoy. During your experience, don’t do anything! Don’t try to force relaxation or focus – just “go with the flow”. You’ll soon realize the swirling colors and sounds have swept you off to a different place within your mind – one more peaceful and alert. A light & sound machine is a very effective tool for helping to overcome insomnia, as each of the machines available here have pre-loaded sessions for sleep enhancement. A beginning user should experience a session regularly (every day or close to that) for the first few weeks. Don’t overdo it — an hour a day is a lot. You can view mind machines at this site: www.3pounduniverse.com

ENJOY!

When you begin using a light and sound machine, you willfind an unlimited number of “layers” in your mind to explore and ways to relax deeply. Where you “go” during a session is completely up to you. These machines are merely tools to help you get there. Visit www.3pounduniverse.com for more information and a full selection of these and related products.

The term hypnosis comes from the Greek hypnos (sleep), as it was in the early stages of the research believe that it is a sleep-like state. As a hypnotist, it denotes the mesmerizing person than Hypnotisand (also respondent, in the hypnotherapy patient or client), the hypnotized person. One person can play both roles, a process known as auto-or self-hypnosis, and in all other cases, it is called third-or hetero-hypnosis. A hypnotic trance through hypnosis is induced (induction), the subject is in hypnosis or in a hypnotic trance. To terminate the trance is broken or exduziert (Exduktion), the Hypnotisand wakes up. If the subject (taken in order to deepen the trance, for example) from the trance, and shortly thereafter moved back into a trance, it is called fractionation. In the context of hypnosis, the volunteers if verbal instructions, called suggestions given, which will contribute directly to the subconscious.

Suggestions that will even after the dissolution of hypnosis still be effective are known as post-hypnotic suggestion. Under post-hypnotic suggestion measurable changes in information processing occur in the brain.

When people think about hypnosis, an image comes to mind of a man sitting and swinging a pendulum in front of someone and saying to them, You are getting very sleepy. This is an image that has been portrayed in movies and the media for years, yet the history of hypnosis goes back much further than most people realize, and is said to be very helpful and healing in several ways. Those who have undergone hypnosis often recall events from the past that they previously had no memory of whatsoever, and this technique is often used to bring up repressed thoughts and emotions in order to help a person overcome certain fears or other problems. Taking a look at the history of hypnosis is both fascinating and educational as well.

Humble Beginnings: A Brief History Of Hypnosis

Likewise, this practice was used in Greece and Egypt as well. The ancient Sanskrit in a book called the Law of Manu spoke of different states of hypnosis; the sleep-waking

Rapid inductions are used to bring a client in trance very quickly and effectively.

Rapid inductions have formed true myth, because it seems almost incredible to put a man in two to three seconds in deep trance. Rapid inductions are normally not used for hypnosis therapies . Here are gentler methods preferred to give the client enough time to fall in hypnosis piece by piece.

There are different types of rapid inductions. All have in common that they use mechanisms that are based on natural reflexes of man. Those natural reflexes protect against overloading the consciousness and cause the deep trance.

Almost everyone knows situations in which your brain has to handle too many impressions. As result your subconscious will need a break and will fall into a trance. In this situation you can notice that your consciousness isn’t really very active.

Exactly at this point rapid inductions come into play. The hypnotists will try toconfuse the consciousness of the other person for a moment. No bad things, maybe only small movements or processes that you are not accustomed to this way. Just enough to confuse his client. Through this little irritation, the subconscious is open to suggestions. Now he can simply shout “sleep!” and the person will automatically fall into a deep, deep trance .

Rapid inductions don’t work every time with every person. There are about five basic types of rapid inductions, which can be split in countless variations. Some people respond to all types, some only to one or two and some people do not react to rapid inductions at all. Some people just go into a deep trance, others feel a slight dizziness or a feeling of relaxation.

You can say that about that 90% of all people respond to any of those rapid techniques. Of those 90% approximately 50% respond very well, 20% respond to only 2-3 techniques and a further 20% only respond to one technique. Only 10% (one of 10 people) do not react to the rapid inductions at all.
Now I will tell you what you will have to consider if you want to start hypnotizing other people with those techniques. First off all you have to be very confident. If you are not confident your subject won’t trust you anymore and won’t fall into a deep trance.
Make sure that your client sits in a chair. Your client will instantly kiss the ground.

Maybe you are interested in how I started to hypnotize other people.

Few years ago I wasn’t satisfied with my entire situation. I had problems meeting other people and even talking to them was very hard for me. I was shy and totally introverted. Girls always told me about the problems their friends had and I was their emotional wastebasket. I knew that I had to change something. But where did my jurney start ?

The last straw was being rejected by a girl I loved. The next day I was thinking about HOW I could change my life. After a few minutes of using google I found the answer. Pickup. I found many other guys with the same problems I had. Almost every story I read was nearly equal to everything I have experienced. After I signed up at the forums I wrote an article about my problems and I was suprised by the replys. They used to think in a way I have never seen anywhere before. They told my everything about the mistakes I made relating to my story.
There I found a subforum called “NLP/Psychology” including NLP(Neuro-linguistic programming), Ericksonian hypnosis and DHE (Design Human Engineering). I didn’t even know what hypnosis or NLP is or how I could use it to programm my subconscious mind, but I was interested enough to read some postings in this forum. The next day I went to my local libary and borrowed a book about selfhypnosis and possibilities of communicating with the subconscious mind.

This book totally blew my mind.
